In Review: I am a Susan May Warren fan (with the Noble Legacy series being one of my absolute favorites) so I was really excited to get this last book in the Deep Haven series. Despite the fact that the publisher sent it out late, I didn't have any trouble finishing this book for our deadline because it was sooooo good!
In this book Susan combined the unexpected twist of a woman as a fire chief as well as a pastor as a volunteer firefighter and through in an arsonist to provide quite a departure from the normal story line. They also provided a lot of questions about the stereotypical male/female roles.
I would HIGHLY recommend this book and the entire series to you! You won't be disappointed.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Ellie Karlson is new to Deep Haven. As the town’s interim fire chief, she is determined to lead the local macho fire crew in spite of their misconceptions about her. But when someone begins setting deadly fires, Ellie faces the biggest challenge of her life. Especially when sparks fly with one of the volunteers on her crew: Pastor Dan Matthews. As Ellie battles to do her job and win the respect of her crew, she finds that there is one fire she can’t fight—the one Dan has set in her heart.
