Five Question Friday

The questions for Five Question Friday are provided by My Little Life!

1. Do you close the bathroom door when you are home alone?  Definitely!   I live with three boys.   Sometimes the two minutes in the bathroom is the only "me" time I might have in a day.

2. You have to walk around with a word on your forehead. That word describes you. One word. What is it?  Content.   God has taught me so much about contentment this past year.    I truly feel a new awareness of what is means "to be content no matter what my circumstances."  Phil 4:12

3. What store do you refuse to shop at and why?  If you know me at all you know that I absolutely despise shopping at Wal-Mart.     I recently took a coupon class and the highlight of that class was hearing the teacher say, "Shopping is Wal-Mart is NOT how you save money."   I was so glad to have back up to give my husband as to why I refuse to go there.

4. If you participated in arranged marriages for your child(ren), who would you choose for your child(ren)?     I believe in arranged marriages.   Ones that are arranged by God.    I have been praying for the wives of my boys for a while.    I also am praying that my boys will follow His will for their lives.

5. If you could pick how and when you would die, would you?   Wow.  What a creepy question.    I guess I wouldn't mind picking the "how".   You know... peacefully in my sleep.    After far as when?    When I have had a chance to see my sweet boys grow up and have their own families.    I don't want to be sick and a burden on anyone.     Like I said, creepy question.

The Perfect Time Of Year

Tonight is the first night of high school football!    My hometown will be having the 49th Red Carpet Bowl.   Two back to back games with the two local high schools playing out of town teams.     It is a chance for the entire city to come out and scout this year's talent.

Tonight Big Guy will be going to his very first after party as a high school freshman.    He is excited about going and hanging out with all of his youth group.    There are about six high schools in our area so they are having one big after party and all the kids are meeting up there.      I would love to take a pic of this big high school first, but I probably won't.     That would be too embarrassing, you know.

Hope you have a great weekend.      Whoever you cheer for... have a great night!

Three Weeks In

We are almost finished with our third week of school.    This is our third year to be homeschooling and for the first time I feel like we have found a routine.     We all seem to be working on the same page.

Big Guy took a biology lab at Belhaven College during our first week of school.    I am SO thankful that Dr. Reese offered that lab.    The thought of dissecting that pig, sheep's heart and other things in my kitchen still makes me gag.

I am really starting to have flashbacks.   This is Big Guy's freshman year of high school.    He is taking MS History, biology, literature, Algebra, and Latin.     Those are the exact subjects I took my freshman year.     The difference between Big Guy and I?   He is so much smarter than I am.     He has already gone through the first three literature studies and gotten a huge start on his MS history studies.    I told him about his MS history project which will be due at the end of the semester and he didn't even blink.

Little Guy is equally impressing me.      He gets himself up in the morning, gets dressed, eats breakfast and starts school before any of us have had a chance to even hit the alarm button.     He is motivated to learn.

That is very intimidating to me.... and I am their teacher!
