WFW: The Whole World Is Still In HIS Hands
Today is Earth Day. Seems like such a wonderful concept doesn't it? Save the planet. Conserve energy. Be kind to Mother Nature. However, Earth Day as a whole is a result of naturalism. What does naturalism as a theory teach? Evolution. What is the basis of evolution? Survival of the fittest.
Last week we went to Little Guy's "Earth Day" play at school. It was cute, but there were some glaring naturalist theories. For example: Instead of singing, "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" they had changed the words to be "We've Got The Whole World In Our Hands".
God did not put us on this earth to save the earth. He put us on this earth to "Go and make disciples." When God returns His concern will be the condition of our hearts, not how many cans we recycled or our carbon footprint.
It is up to us to see through all these well meaning messages our children are receiving in school and help them keep their eyes lifted up to the hills from whence cometh their strength. They do NOT have the whole world in their hands... but they do need to know the One who does.

I definitely agree with you on getting "first things first" and the emphasis does definitely seem to be on the wrong things at times. I was reading a great devotional the other day though about how God entrusted the care of the animals and the Garden of Eden to Adam and I think that represents a responsibility that all of us have to take care of the world that He gave us to enjoy.
Love the picture and verse!
Thanks for sharing today!

So many times all the Earth Day promotions make it seem like it is all up to us. We are simply stewards of God's creations.
A-freaking-men sister D!
People are so egotistical to think they have control over everything! Sad and ridiculous...
He has the world on this finger tip!
thanks for the insight to earth day!
now I have that song in my head :) What a fantastic song to have stuck!
Love the photo and the verse.
Happy WFW!

In total agreement with you here! While I love the beauty of the earth, I've never bought into the religion of enviornmentalism or naturalism. It's God's World, not "ours". Yes, we live here, but it's by His planting, not some random happenstance like evolution. I cannot wait to see the new Earth God has for us. What a foretaste of Heaven we have here with the beauty of our planet in the meantime; however, I pray we are about hugging people rather than trees for Him and His glory. Awesome post and beautiful pic and Scripture, Deanna! Happy WFW!
Very pretty, thank you ~
Super WFW.
I agree totally. Thanks for a great post!
