Who knew the doctor would give me a list of HEALTHY foods to avoid?!? Apparently certain foods are high in Vitamin K which cause your blood to clot. Obviously this is not something I want to happen so for now I will be avoiding...
cranberries and cranberry juice
green veggies (that is a LOT of veggies!)
okra
cabbage
plums
kiwi fruit
blackeye peas
frozen blueberries
pumpkin
carrot juice
pickles
cauliflower
cucumbers
With summer and fresh veggies around the corner... I guess I am going to have to put up some veggies in the freezer.

Oh gosh, that's awful!! I didn't see tomatoes on that list so hopefully you can enjoy those.
Strange huh? Later on they may let up as long as you are consistent and they can keep your medicine regulated. But best to find a substitute healthy food for a while.
Guess I am going to be trying new things! Ha!
This looks sort of like the list my FIL has to avoid, when they put him on coumadin. Are you on coumadin or heparin for the blood clotting issues? It's not as bad as it seems, he has adapted rather well, and thankfully didn't like some of those to begin with, he said! Just find all of the good things you can't eat and don't sweat the other stuff :)
Take care and feel better!
Wow, that list wipes out pretty much every veggie I eat. But I'm glad you're on the road to recovery!
Are you on coumadin? If you are, I'm sorry. I hope they don't have you on lovenox. Those shots used to give me bruises. If you need any help with all of that medicine, I'm more familiar with it than I'd like to be. Email me anytime, Krisa can give you my email address.
MH, my stomach is black and blue from all the bruises. Some are huge, but I am sure you know that. Thanks so much for your offer. I may take you up on that!
