WFW: One Thing Never Changes

There is a gentleman in our neighborhood who has lived long enough to actually see our country go from horse and buggies to our current space age.    Talk about change!

When I was a little girl I was taught in Sunday School and listened to my pastor preach from the Bible.    Today some of the very things that were taught as sins are now being condoned in the very same pulpits.   People are wrongly being taught that there is nothing wrong with sin.

For some reason, so much change is going on and so many churches and "Christian" leaders are going with the flow of culture, that people are thinking that God has actually changed his mind about sin.

Malachi was the last prophet of the Old Testament.     During his day, Israel had drifted a LONG way from God.    Because of this, God decided to just be silent.    Not just for a day or two, but for 400 years.     Until John the Baptist showed up on the scene.    God didn't go back on His Word to Israel.   It was Israel who went back on theirs.

God is a parent and He believes in discipline in the same way that we must discipline our children.    Only a parent who doesn't love their child would never discipline them.    There are many different types of disciplines.    The disciplines of warnings such as "Don't touch... it is hot!" or "Don't run out in the street.".    Discipline of accountability such as "Do your homework." or "Practice your instrument."   But there is also the discipline of correction:  "You do not hit." or "You do not call people names."       Some people feel guilty when they discipline their children.   To not discipline is neglect.    How do we know?   Because our Heavenly Father disciplines us!

In all of the changes that are going on in this world today, we can be assured of one constant.     God loves us.   He died for us.    He NEVER changes.    The proof is in Scripture!    Read it.

GREAT post, Deanna! I love that our Father gave us clear and concise guidelines of what He expects from us. From the 10 commandments to love thy neighbor, His word is clear. The only failure is on our part if we don't obey.

Awesome!

Wow now this is REALLY GOOD!!!
You said it so right. We as adults know the way, and the truth, we know right from wrong. But if we don't help others like our children how will they ever learn, I know some adults that could use some discipline as well, I think these are the ones that didn't get that lesson as a child.

This post should be posted all over, you wrote this beautifully.
I may even use this on my next newsletter for church if you don't mind!
Have a beautiful week
Hugggss and Blessings

I stand in utter amazement at the gift you have for words. This is so beautiful and so true! AND I think it is exactly what is wrong with our society today!

It's a lazy way of parenting and the easy way out!

I'm so happy our Heavenly Father set out guidelines for us!

And we can look at previous civilizations that everyone thought would last forever - but are gone - to see how those changes affect things.

Wonderful truths here. This world just never ceases to amaze me. When I think I've seen it all, something else pops up. I praise the Lord that He does not change. Great pic and Scripture. Happy WFW!

That is so true.

I've often wondered how someone can claim to preach from God's Word and at the same time condone same sex marriage... didn't God destroy Sodom because of homosexuality?

I agree that discipline is important. I'm glad my parents disciplined me, and I aim to discipline my children.

I am SO glad God never changes. We all need SOME stability, right?
