I Saw The Light

When I am cleaning house or driving in my car and I start singing, I always start singing hymns. There is something about hymns.

Bart Millard has two great CD's that is nothing but hymns. Some of them are very traditional and some of them are remixes like this one of "I Saw The Light". Still, they bring back many memories of childhood, church and God's amazing grace.

I can remember singing that at my grandfather's church and hearing him sing it as he played the piano. I love the updated version!

I'm quite the hymn fan myself. My Nana was a music teacher, and taught me how to play the piano. No Beethoven or Brahms for me, at least in the early years. I still can play quite a few hymns by memory!

I went back home this weekend and went to church with mom and dad. I'm not Baptist anymore, and haven't been for a while, but the one thing I miss are the songs. I grew up singing those songs, and it's great to hear them again.

Great blog post.

That is a wonderful song! I sing this one quite often, around the house. The newer versions are good.
