"Speak, for your servant is listening!" 1 Samuel 3:10
Today's Word Filled Wednesday is in honor of the more than 3 million students from all over the United States who will gather around the flag poles of their schools this morning at 7:00 a.m to pray. Even more students in 20 countries like Canada, Guam, Korea, Japan, Turkey, and the Ivory Coast, students are responding to God and taking seriously the challenge to pray.
See You At The Pole began in 1990. It was an idea that was planted by God in the hearts of a group of teenagers. The difference between this idea and others? Obedience. A group of 45,000 teens were challenged at a DiscipleNow retreat to go and pray. By the next year the See You at The Pole event had grown to one million students.
Hubs and I will be going as part of the prayer support team to our son's school this morning to stand in support of the students who will be praying this morning. We will also be providing them a simple continental breakfast following the prayer time.
As you drive past schools today or as you see a flag pole, pray. Pray for our kids. School is not the same place it was when we were growing up. They need our prayers for safety, security and education.
